We are looking for a new manager for our Community Advice Service. A special person who has the skills, passion and drive to bring our ambitious plans to build on our already excellent reputation, and impressive 60 year track record, to life.

 

Citizens Advice Gateshead is a local charity that punches above its weight. As well as delivering digital advice to over 400,000 people every year nationally, our Community Advice Service delivers free social welfare advice, information and guidance to over 12,000 Gateshead residents a year under the well-recognised membership of Citizens Advice. We are now looking for an experienced service manager who has grass roots experience of supporting people facing often multiple and complex challenges, and who has the skills to lead a team of staff and volunteer advisers, develop existing and new partnerships and collaborations, and increase our reach through innovative community-based delivery models, to fulfil our aim to support people to know and understand their social welfare rights and responsibilities, so they can improve their quality of life, through:

  • enabling people to easily access the knowledge they need
  • shaping our service around the needs of each person
  • delivering quality, impartial advance and information that meets and exceeds the high standards expected of the Citizens Advice brand
  • knowing the true impact of our services on people's lives, and use this knowledge to continuously build new and improved services that meeting the ever-changing needs of local people.

The Community Advice Service Manager will be joining the charity at an important time in our history. Never have more people needed our help more than they do now. We need to grow our reach and our impact, through driving innovation and efficiencies, our advice team needs direction and support, and our leadership and management team needs a missing cog who will truly help us to rock the system.

Annual Salary

£32,249.17

Hours

37 hours per week (TOIL policy applies to this post)

Holidays

22 days a year plus bank holidays, increasing after 2 years of service
