CLOSED - People Development Manager (Charity)

We are now recruiting a People Development Manager to help us to take the next steps on our journey.

As a member of the Commercial team, which is led by the Commercial Director, the People Development Manager will help us to move even closer to achieving our aims to be the charity of choice full of great people who are motivated to make difference, and to support and nurture people with the right values, and the will to grow and evolve.

The post holder will be responsible for introducing and managing all aspects of staff and volunteer personnel-related policy and process, with a focus on maximising efficiency whilst embedding a really positive experience throughout. They will also lead on workforce development strategies, initiatives to improve and maintain the health and emotional and financial wellbeing of staff and volunteers, and internal communications to enable positive, inclusive and efficient two-way interaction across the charity which operates from multiple locations in Gateshead.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to our social values, and is likely to be commercially astute, capable of planning to deliver strategic priorities through people. We are looking for someone who is Degree and CIPD qualified (or with minimum 5 years equivalent experience), has experience of competency-based workforce development and performance management in a complex multi-disciplined organisation, and who has a detailed working knowledge of effective and compliant recruitment policy and process.

Annual Salary

£28,750.45 - £31,616.84 per annum


37 hours per week


22 days per annum, increasing to 25 days after 2 full years’ service (plus 8 statutory days)
