If you are a service sector business development professional who has a deep interest in social welfare and societal matters, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to make a real difference with your business development talents.
Society Matters cic, the social enterprise that operates as a trading subsidiary of charity Citizens Advice Gateshead, designs and delivers social welfare training and support services for professionals in key target sectors including social housing, employability, public, utilities, criminal justice, health.
Through our specialist training we are mobilising knowledge to ensure that people working ‘in the system’ (directly or indirectly) have a deeper knowledge of the social welfare challenges being faced by the people using their services, and so become increasingly confident and capable of providing support through insightful policies, practices and information.
Reporting to the Commercial Director of Citizens Advice Gateshead, who is also Executive Director for Society Matters cic, and working alongside the Society Matters Trading Manager who is responsible for all aspects of training design, development and delivery, the Business Development Lead will lead the development of new business partnerships across the North East region and nationally. The fundamental purpose of the role is to enable Society Matters cic to fulfil its dual social purpose: to mobilise knowledge so the system works; and to generate income through fair and affordable commercial relationships to support the work of the parent charity.
If you’re someone who has a demonstrable knowledge of, and interest in, social welfare and societal matters, you have a strong track record of new business development in the service sector and are passionate about developing win win partnerships, and you have successfully utilised digital marketing channels to enable partnership development and new sales income, we’d love to hear from you.
