CLOSED - Temporary Finance Clerk

Citizens Advice Gateshead is an independent charity and a member of the national Citizens Advice network. Our vision is for a fair society for all, with lives well lived.  Our mission is to mobilise knowledge so the system works, it works for everyone, and it powers the changes we need to be an equal and inclusive society. To achieve this, we deliver services locally to almost 13,000 people a year and support over 400,000 people nationally through digital advice and information services, including the discrimination advice service.

We are in the process of re-engineering and future proofing our finance team and systems to support our future plans for growth. While we do so we need an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Clerk who has a detailed working knowledge of Sage 50 for a temporary position until end September 2020 (possibility of longer period to be confirmed end August).

Duties will include:

  • Sales and purchase ledgers
  • Invoicing and receipt of payments
  • Bank and cash reconciliations
  • Organising payment runs
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers

To be considered for this temporary position you will need to be happy to work initially in our Gateshead town centre office to receive training and supervision (with assurance of our adherence to government health and safety guidelines) and then to work between home and the office for between 30 and 37 hours/week.

Immediate start

c£21,000 pro rata FTE dependent on experience

Flexible working hours between 30 and 37/week

Office base in Gateshead centre close to local transport hubs (free parking available until end September)

Remote working will be required - home access to broadband is essential
