To make sure that we are able to support the people of Gateshead as fully as possible through the COVID-19 pandemic we are moving all aspects of our service to a digital and telephone service only, with our final local drop-in service taking place on Friday 20th March 2020.
The information and advice available through our digital and telephone service is the same as that we deliver via our face to face service, covering welfare benefits, money advice, problems with housing and employment issues. The Consumer Helpline is available for anyone experiencing problems with goods and services and perhaps importantly at this time issues about energy suppliers including problems about being without a supply because of self-isolation.
We will review this decision by Friday 17th April 2020, taking into account any further government guidelines. Stakeholders at our various outreaches have been given information about how those clients may still get in touch with caseworkers.
