How volunteering helped Linet help her community and get a job

Linet is an adviser on our Consumer Helpline, who started her career with us as an advice volunteer.

I have always had the passion to engage in helping out my community in any way I can through volunteering.

I joined Citizens Advice Gateshead because it had both things I am passionate about;  it gave me a chance to help out my community as well as practice law that I love.

I was worried about finding employment but from a volunteering role, the service has given me a chance to move on to a paid role. I chose to join citizens Advice Gateshead because ending every day knowing that someone’s got a solution from my advice is a very rewarding feeling. It gives me pride to be part of a service that is helping millions without cost.
