Jayne is Commercial Director of charity Citizens Advice Gateshead. Since her commencement in 2018 she has driven change through strategic planning, establishment of a now award-winning HR and people development function, mobilisation of improved internal and external communications and business development. Jayne also leads its trading subsidiary, social enterprise Society Matters cic, which designs and delivers high social impact training spanning welfare issues from state benefits through to mental health.
Jayne was awarded an MBE for services to the small business sector in the North East in 2017 in the Queens Birthday Honours, after running her own business consultancy since 2004, which involved strategic and commercial services, coaching with leaders in the private, public and charitable sectors and establishing a unique support network for solo entrepreneurs operating their businesses from home. Before working for herself, Jayne led growth for service sector businesses, and between 2000 and 2004 held the position of CEO of Business Link County Durham, leading this government funded private sector organisation through significant change, growth and repositioning within the regional economic development landscape.
