With 25 years of financial services experience, Stuart heads up the branch network of the North East of England’s largest building society where the organisational purpose is ‘Connecting Communities with a better Financial Future’. Indifferent to many in the banking world, 160 year old Newcastle Building Society has over the last 3 years successfully grown its branch network, provided significant support to the high streets and communities where it is located.
Stuart is focused on making a difference in the North East and using his networks to support others. Currently as well as many things this involves a drive to uplift financial education for schools and young adults, supporting the Newcastle United Foundation’s NU Futures programme and his involvement as a Gateshead Poverty Truth Commissioner. Stuart was awarded an MBE in the 2020 Covid Honours Awards for his ongoing service to the Community and particularly in the early months of the spread of Covid 19.
